Working Women in the City

Besides all the women who are full-time workers in the household, there are thousands of working women in the city; hired domestic workers, sanitation workers, vendors, cleaners, government employees, corporate employees, etc. What are the safeguards provided to these women, not just as workers, but as women workers? Who has access to these safeguards and who doesn’t? Besides, to what extent are these working women taken into consideration in planning cities? Take the public transit for instance, how easy is it for women to move in the city?
